Dehu (Dist.Pune) Back
This place is where Santa (Saint) Tukaram lived and worshiped Lord Vitthal. The Abhanga (the divine verses) written by Saint Tukamram are a guide to ways of real worship and way of life. The `Palakhi` in the month of `Ashadh` ( 4th Month of Hindu Calendar) starts from Dehu in which many people participate religiously every year.
Vitthal Mandiris on the banks of Indrayani river was constructed by his younger son Narayanbaba in 1723. Various other temples and Bhamachandra rock Bhandara Hill where Sant Tukaram was on fast for attaining the enlightenment is also worth a visit.
