Balapur Back
Famous for the temple of Baladevi installed by Saint Ramdas gave the name to this place which is positioned on the confluence of the two rivers Mana and Mhais. This also known as the birthplace of Bal Krishnabua, the disciple of Saint Ramdas.
Azim Shah, son of Moughal emperor Aurangzeb stayed there and constructed the strongest fort in Vidarbha using bricks in 1721. The canopy of Raja Jai Singh about 25ft in height, built in stone is a major tourist attraction. There is a thermal power at Paras with two 250 MW units station which under expansion. Locally made cotton carpets(Dari) are famous.
