Narnala Fort buit by Bahamani King in 1425 is surrounded by dense forest within the Melghat tiger reserve in the Satpuda range. Also known as Shahanur fort it is spread over 22 sq. kms. and consists of three small forts - Narnala, Zafrabad, and Teliagarh. Akot is visited by followers of Saint Narsingji Maharaj.
