Pratishthan (Paithan) once the capital of the famous Satavahan dynasty and also home to the saint Eknath. is today`s favourite haunt of archaeologists and is well known for paithanis, (silk sarees with elaborate zari work). While in Paithan, make sure to visit the beautiful garden Dnyaneshwar Udyan  and try your hand at the exciting water sports.

Jayakwadi Bird Sanctuary situated in Aurngabad and Ahamadnagar district is a paradise for bird watchers. Nearly 200 species of resident and migratory birds including Cranes, Flamingos, Brahmany Duck, Pochards Teals, Shovellar, Pintails, Wigeon, God Wit, Glossy Ibis, are found here. Nathsagar Lake, makes the surrounding area rich in aquatic flora and fauna. Species of Hydrilla,Chara, Spyrogyra, Potamogeton, Vallisneria, Argemone Maxicana and Ipomea Fistulosa are some of  the aquatic vegetation found here.
