Creator God “Lord Brahma” predicted that Lord Ganesha would incarnate in the Kritayug  (Satyayug) as “Vinayak”; as “Mayureshwar” in Treta yug,  â€œGajanan” in the Dwaparyug and as “Dhumraketu” in the Kalyug to destroy the Evil.

The Sacred “Ashta Vinayak Yatra” commences from Morgaon in Pune District of Maharashtra. It is where Mayureshwara (Lord Ganesh) killed Demon “Sindhu” and his two Sons and freed the imprisoned Gods. He was riding a peacock when he he attacked Sindhu in Gandaki Nagari, he was Named ‘Mayureshvar` and decided to reside at Morgaon, for the sake of his devotees.
