Creator God “Lord Brahma†predicted that Lord Ganesha would
incarnate in the Kritayug (Satyayug) as “Vinayakâ€;
as “Mayureshwar†in Treta yug, “Gajananâ€
in the Dwaparyug and as “Dhumraketu†in the Kalyug to destroy the Evil.
The Sacred “Ashta Vinayak Yatra†commences from Morgaon in
Pune District of Maharashtra. It is where Mayureshwara (Lord Ganesh) killed
Demon “Sindhu†and his two Sons and freed the imprisoned Gods. He was riding a
peacock when he he attacked Sindhu in Gandaki Nagari, he was Named ‘Mayureshvar` and decided to reside at Morgaon, for the sake of
his devotees.
Pune well connected by road as well as by rail is
the most convenient city to reach Morgaon.. with daily buses, trains and
flights between Mumbai and Pune.
