Shegaon Back
Shegaon aptly called "Pandharpur of Vidarbha", is the holy place where Saint GAJANAN MAHARAJ, appeared on 23rd February 1878 (Magha Vadya Saptmi) and attained Samadhi on 8th September 1910 (Bhadrapad Shukla Panchami). Yatra is held on Rama Navami (Chaitra) and Rishi Panchami (Bhadrapada) and pilgrims visit in large numbers on all Thursdays visiting Samadhi Mandir, Bankat Sadan, Mahadev Temple etc. and try to find solace from their worldly problems.
By Rail: On Mumbai-Howrah route (Central Railway). All Mail/ Express trains except Gitanjali and Navjeevan Express stop at Shegaon station.
By road: Khamgaon 17, Buldhana 69, Akola 45, Mumbai 575, Nagpur 316. Chikhaldara 150, Lonar 125, Ajanta 120. Buses available from to all major cities in Maharashtra and also from Dewas, Indore, Ujjain, Baroda.
