Nageshwar temple( Khireshwar) is famous for Intricate carvings on the ceiling. Also ancient caves are nearby.
Harishchandragad has references in Puranas. The citadel of the fort was built during the rule of Kalchuri dynasty. There are various caves from 11th century. The fort was captured from Moguls by Marathas in 174.
Harishchandreshwar Temple has beautiful carvings and is about 50 feet In height. River Mangal Ganga originates from one of the ancient tanks near the temple.
Kashitirtha Temple carved out from a single huge rock with entrances from four sides and the main entrance has inscriptions in Devnagri, about sage Changdev.
Saptatirtha is a well-built lake with temple-like constructions on the bank, housinge idols of Lord Vishnu which are shifted to the caves near the temple.
Kedareshwar Cave with big five feet Shivlinga, is surrounded by ice-cold water. The
Konkan Kada hanging like like a cobra`s hood is the point to watch the sun set and also offers a panoramic view of the scenic Konkan region. This cliff is always challenge to climbers. If you are lucky you can get a rare sight of rainbow in circle here.
Taramati peak commands a panoramic view of Naneghat and the forts near Murbad and is the second highest peak in Maharashtra after Kalsubai,
By Road:
1) Khaireshwar Village .(on Ahmednagar-Kalyan Road) 4 kms. Pune Khireshwar 160 kms. From here walk to Junnar, Tolar Khind and then ascending the rock with the help of railings, come to the plateau. Then cross 7 hills & walk for 3 hours, to reach the Harishchandreshwar temple.
2)Take a bus from Malshej Ghat and get down at village of Belpada which is 19 km from the Temple. Then climb a straight rock with available grips, through Sadhleghat.
3) Board the bus to get down at Ghoti. Going from Ghoti to Sangamner via Malegaon get down at Rajur, then can trek to Tolar Khind via Pachanai.(3 hours by walk).
