Dabhol (Dist. Ratnagiri) Back
Dabhol is a natural harbour on the creek where River Vashishthi River meets the Arabian sea. It is famous for the Chandikadevi Temple where the Swayambhu Idol can be worshiped after passing through a dark underground cave with the only illumination of a oil lamp. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used to visit this temple used used frequently.

Other places of interest include fishing village Anjalvel & Gopalgad fort, beautiful lighthouse and two ancient temples. Ferry service from Dabhol to Dhopave takes vehicles and passengers across the creek.
