Dabhol is a natural harbour on the creek where River Vashishthi River meets  the Arabian sea. It is famous for the Chandikadevi Temple  where the Swayambhu Idol can be worshiped after passing through a dark  underground cave with the only illumination of a oil lamp. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used to visit this temple used used frequently.

While reaching Dabhol from Daploi panoramic views of Dabhol Power Project (Enron) attract your attention from the hill top. The hidden beach
with black sand, backwaters and taking a ferry boat for a interesting ride while watching Dolphins in their natural habitat, is an attraction to tourists.

Known as Mustafabad under the Bahamani dynasty in 15tyh century, Dabhol port used to be the major trade centre of south Konkan region. Adilshah built Shahi Masjid showcasing masterpiece of Muslim architecture.

Other places of interest include fishing village Anjalvel & Gopalgad fort, beautiful lighthouse and two ancient temples. Ferry service from Dabhol to Dhopave takes vehicles and passengers across the creek.
